Annie’s unique poetic skills, interweaving craft, spirit, and passion, are well-suited to addressing personal and public events. Her commissions for public occasions have included the Women’s Poetry Timeline at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C., a Phi Beta Kappa poem for Yale University, and the 9-11 Memorial at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York.
Part of Annie’s calling as a poet–in the tradition of Norse skalds, West African griots, or Celtic bards—is to create poems that mark and honor moments in our individual or collective lives.
